DETIO FOUNDATION LTD is a not-for-profit technical research organization. We develop and steward privacy-preserving digital infrastructure, distributed computing, and trustworthy AI — and our constitution makes private capture of that work structurally impossible.
01Charitable purposes
The foundation exists only for charitable purposes for the public benefit, carried out without private commercial interests. Clause 6 of the constitution defines exactly four pillars.
Public research, open technical education, open specifications, standards, documentation, safety materials, and implementation guidance for privacy-preserving digital infrastructure, distributed computing, and trustworthy artificial intelligence.
Developing, stewarding, and supporting technology that improves public access to secure, privacy-preserving, resilient, and affordable digital infrastructure.
Promoting privacy, dignity, autonomy, and equality of access — and protection from unlawful surveillance, coercion, discrimination, and private capture of essential digital infrastructure.
Research, education, standards, and public-benefit technology that improves cyber security, identity safety, AI safety, data protection, and infrastructure resilience.

02Research programs
The foundation develops, stewards, publishes, and maintains four bodies of technology as public-benefit infrastructure — two flagship programs named in the constitution, an open-source applied-engineering track, and a first-class identity program.
Program 01 — decentralized cloud
A decentralized cloud computing marketplace connecting tenants who need compute with providers who lease capacity — with identity, encryption, escrow, and settlement enforced by the chain itself.
Program 02 — trustworthy AI
The Dynamically Self-Evolving Multi-Agent architecture: a research program for safe, accountable, auditable multi-agent AI systems that improve themselves under verifiable on-chain control.
Program 03 — autonomous engineering
A fully open-source, experimental control plane for autonomous software engineering — routing work across AI coding agents, automating PR lifecycles, and recovering from failure while humans stay in command.
Program 04 — verifiable identity
Verifiable Electronic Identity: multi-factor verification encrypted on the user's device, scored by chain consensus, and presented to services as proofs of attributes — never copies of documents.
Six cross-cutting research topics — from decentralized identity and multi-agent safety to incentive mechanism design — are mapped on the research portfolio.
03The public-benefit lock
Most technology pledges are policies that a future board can quietly reverse. Ours are Protected Provisions in the constitution itself, changeable only under clause 18 with a special resolution and written Founding Member consent.
Income and assets must be applied solely to the charitable purposes. Distribution to members, directors, founders, or related parties is prohibited. cl 8.1 cl 8.2
VirtEngine, DSEMA, the patents, and all Transferred Assets must be owned, stewarded, and applied for public benefit — a Protected Provision. sch 1 cl 31.1
Transferable economic value — including any protocol token — must be structurally separated from governance over the foundation's purposes. cl 38.1 cl 38.5

04The constitution explorer

05Ecosystem
det.io is the institutional anchor. The protocol, its documentation, the citizen-facing identity wallet, and the Bosun orchestrator each have a dedicated home.
